A regional event for undergraduate and graduate students, professionals, and university partners, Symposium 2024 seeks to spark scientific and professional imaginations, highlight cutting-edge research, and expand professional networking channels.
With innovative research, communication strategies, and insights into the science-policy interface, the symposium is a forum for researchers, policymakers, resource managers, and employers. Attendees will be able to engage with other professionals from nonprofit organizations, private industry, as well as state and federal agencies.
Two Days of Breakout Sessions
Virginia Sea Grant Symposium 2024 will feature breakout sessions held over two days. Each session will be led by expert instructors and offer insights from thought-leading and influential panelists. You will learn about:

Speaker, Author, Business Consultant, and Coach
Basel, Switzerland-based author and speaker Fabian Schmid teaches graduate students ‘survival skills for creative people’ and consults with companies on business strategy, change management and stress prevention. He coaches clients back into their ‘lightness of being’ and speaks publicly about personal attitude, contradiction, responsibility, courage, possibility and the impact they have on life and work. In doing so, he taps deeply into his track record as an internationally acclaimed entrepreneur, designer, stage performer and proven long-term human being with first-hand burnout experience.
