New communications manager joins Virginia Sea Grant
We would like to welcome Jay Clark to Virginia Sea Grant (VASG). As a part of the VASG leadership team, Clark will oversee the communications center’s projects and initiatives. He will also guide VASG’s communications strategy.
Clark says he looks forward to working with VASG’s partner universities and extension groups to highlight the impacts of Sea Grant projects.
“I like telling people’s stories, which is what I’m looking forward to in this job,” Clark says.
Clark brings with him more than 20 years of experience in communications and design. Formerly, he served as the project manager and communications strategist at East Carolina University, where he managed visual, design, and web development teams.
He also served as a photographer and graphic designer for multiple publications, including Outdoor America Magazine. He earned his B.S. in mass communications from Towson University and will complete his M.A. in Technology and Communication this spring through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“We are so excited to have Jay join VASG,” says Troy Hartley, director of Virginia Sea Grant. “He is perfect for Sea Grant, bringing a breadth of communication skills and experience working in a multi-university environment.”
