The variety worked for Warner, who says that “getting out to different places and taking photographs of different subjects” made her internship experience interesting. Warner covered everything from VIMS graduate students teaching at the VA Aquarium to the Chef Seafood Symposium to international visitors at Virginia Tech’s Hampton Labs.

Warner, who studies photography at Thomas Nelson Community College, was born and raised in Hampton Roads. She plans to graduate in spring of 2012 and continue expanding her portfolio and knowledge of photography. Some day she would like to relocate to Florida and become an underwater photographer.

We look forward to seeing the underwater world through Kim’s lens in the future!

Virginia Sea Grant is proud to be a co-op provider with Thomas Nelson Community College’s photography department.
