Coastal Tourism Business Development Summer Internship for Grad Students

Virginia Sea Grant (VASG) and Chesapeake Environmental Communications (CEC) are pleased to announce the availability of an 8-10 week summer internship for graduate students in business development ($5,000 stipend). A graduate student with a business and/or marketing background will support research to assess the market feasibility and growth potential of a coastal-dependent tourism program that works with commercial fishermen in Virginia. Depending upon the strengths of the selected candidate, the intern would be responsible for completing at least one of the following tasks and hopefully, contributing to all tasks: 1) the development of a market analysis of tourism potential throughout coastal Virginia, 2) identification and compilation of case studies of other regional models to use as examples, and 3) development of a business plan for program self-sufficiency. These tasks are listed in priority order for CEC.
