On Tuesday, May 17, faculty and students from the University of Virginia will brief the Virginia Beach City Council about sea level rise. This presentation will be streamed live online. The briefing is the culmination of a VASG-funded Coastal Community Adaptation project. Researchers from UVA’s Institute for Environmental Negotiation led a series of listening sessions in Virginia Beach to assess residents attitudes and awareness about sea level rise, and Urban & Environmental Planning students analyzed possible planning responses that Virginia Beach might take.
